UPDATE ON FOOD SAFETY POLICY: TEMPORARY SUSPENSION OF CERTAIN NEW REGULATIONS

On April 6, 2026, the Government issued Resolution No. 13/2026/NQ-CP regarding the temporary suspension of several regulations related to food safety management. This is an important update that businesses should take note of to ensure compliance with current regulations.

According to the Resolution, the suspension is intended to facilitate the review, amendment, and completion of the legal framework governing food safety.

1. Suspended Legal Documents

  • Decree No. 46/2026/ND-CP (issued on January 26, 2026)
  • Resolution No. 66.13/2026/NQ-CP (issued on January 27, 2026)

During the suspension period, the provisions under Decree No. 15/2018/ND-CP will continue to apply.

2. Impact on Businesses

Reapplying Decree 15/2018/ND-CP helps maintain stability in regulatory practices and allows businesses to continue following familiar procedures.

  • Applications submitted before the Resolution takes effect will continue to be processed under current regulations
