Tay Ninh Accelerates Development of Technology-Integrated Logistics Centers: A New Driver for Regional Supply Chains
Tay Ninh is implementing a long-term logistics development strategy with a vision to 2035 and orientation toward 2050, aiming to leverage its strategic location as a gateway to the Southeast region of Vietnam. According to a newly issued plan by the provincial People’s Committee, the province will invest in developing a modern logistics center system closely integrated with transportation infrastructure, commercial networks, and information technology to enhance supply chain operations.
This strategy is considered an important step in upgrading the logistics ecosystem of the region, while also creating favorable conditions for manufacturing and import–export businesses operating in industrial parks and border economic zones.
Planning 15 logistics centers at strategic locations
Under the new development orientation, Tay Ninh plans to establish 15 logistics centers distributed across areas with advantages in transportation infrastructure, international border gates, and concentrated production zones.
These centers are designed to support multiple supply chain functions, including cargo storage, distribution, transshipment, and multimodal transportation services. Locating logistics centers near border gates and key transportation corridors will help shorten transit times while optimizing logistics costs for businesses.
In addition to strategic locations, the development plan also emphasizes the connection between logistics infrastructure, commercial systems, and industrial parks. This approach aims to create an integrated logistics network that supports the flow of goods from production to distribution and export.
Integrating logistics with information technology and supply chain digitalization
One of the most notable aspects of Tay Ninh’s logistics development strategy is the strong integration between logistics operations and information technology.
According to the plan, the new logistics centers will adopt modern operational models, applying technologies in warehouse management, cargo tracking, and supply chain data analytics. Digitalizing logistics processes will enable businesses to improve cargo visibility, optimize inventory management, and enhance operational efficiency.
This trend aligns with the development of Logistics 4.0, where data platforms, operational tracking systems, and multimodal connectivity play a key role in improving supply chain transparency and predictive capabilities.
For import–export enterprises, particularly FDI companies, the adoption of technology in logistics can help reduce operational disruption risks and improve overall supply chain governance.
Long-term goal: Logistics contributing 7–9% of GRDP
Beyond infrastructure development, Tay Ninh has also set long-term objectives for the logistics sector. According to the province’s orientation toward 2050, logistics is expected to contribute 7% to 9% of the provincial GRDP, becoming one of the key service sectors supporting economic growth.
At the same time, the province aims to develop international-scale logistics centers, serving as trade connectivity hubs between Vietnam and neighboring countries, particularly through cross-border trade routes with Cambodia.
The development of a modern logistics network will not only enhance the province’s competitiveness but also create a comprehensive ecosystem supporting manufacturing, trade, and import–export activities.
Implications for logistics and import–export businesses
The development of logistics centers in Tay Ninh is expected to create new opportunities for companies operating in logistics and supply chain sectors.
First, the expansion of logistics infrastructure may help reduce transportation pressure on traditional logistics hubs in the Southeast region such as Ho Chi Minh City and Binh Duong. This could help redistribute cargo flows and reduce transportation costs for businesses.
In addition, modern logistics centers will support the development of multimodal transport, connecting road transport, seaport logistics, and cross-border trade routes.
For manufacturing enterprises, especially those located in industrial parks, access to modern logistics infrastructure can improve distribution efficiency and shorten time-to-market.
THT Cargo Logistics’ perspective
According to THT Cargo Logistics, Tay Ninh’s investment in technology-integrated logistics centers is a positive signal for the development of the supply chain ecosystem in Southern Vietnam.
As manufacturing and export activities continue to expand, demand for modern logistics infrastructure and multimodal connectivity is steadily increasing. If implemented effectively, these logistics centers could play a significant role in reducing operational costs and improving the competitiveness of businesses.
THT also believes that the application of technology and digitalization in logistics operations will become an inevitable trend in the coming years. Logistics companies should proactively invest in data management systems, operational tracking platforms, and supply chain connectivity solutions to meet the increasingly sophisticated requirements of the market.
Conclusion
Tay Ninh’s strategy to develop a network of logistics centers demonstrates the province’s commitment to building modern infrastructure that supports trade and industrial production. With the planning of 15 logistics centers, combined with a strong orientation toward information technology integration and supply chain digitalization, Tay Ninh is gradually becoming an important node in the logistics network of the Southeast region.
In the context of global supply chain restructuring, large-scale logistics infrastructure projects like these will contribute to improving trade connectivity and creating new growth opportunities for both logistics providers and import–export enterprises in Vietnam.
